Cynthia Kao's shorts have garnered millions of views and have been featured on Vulture, Deadline, Daily Beast and Upworthy among others. Her latest short, “Groundhog Day For A Black Man”, won both the Outstanding Comedy and the Critics’ Choice Awards at the 12th annual NBC Short Film Festival. She was accepted into TIFF's 2018 Filmmaker Lab, where she was awarded a 2019 Filmmaker Residency with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Film Independent. She has written for TBS's Ground Floor and TruTV's Adam Ruins Everything and was a cast member on CollegeHumor. She was in the 2018-2020 Walt Disney TV Directing Program and volunteers with Young Storytellers.
